Jaime Parham - Baltimore, Maryland

Sarah Daly - Marietta, GA

After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting and Drawing from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA , Sarah Daly’s art took on a life of its own.  She has participated in a variety of individual and group exhibitions and juried shows throughout the U.S.  She has also been invited and has shown her art in prestigious art galleries such as Lowe’s and Spruill Galleries in Atlanta and in an exhibition entitled “The Human Form” at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago.

Sarah’s art is created based on the fact that life is about change and feels that since it is uncontrollable and transformative, our surroundings are full of the energy and possibility of it.

The ebb and flow of our lives is affected by it.  Our physical, spiritual, and mental travels cause necessary and unstoppable change in our lives and these changes vary dramatically according to our emotions, jobs, family members, and even the weather.  A ripple in one of these areas can cause a swell in all the other areas, creating fissures and mountains, which may take us years to explore and interpret.  She explores these places and how our emotional and spiritual lives affects them and us through the use of maps and figures.  By using the language and symbols taken from road maps she describes how a physical journey can become spiritual and emotional.  Sarah marries images of personal changes with abstracted images of landscape and symbols of travel to describe the dynamic relationship between our physical and mental selves.  Our journeys are mapped out behind us in the places we go and the choices we’ve made, thus creating a journal of our physical and emotional road trip.  Our body is the physical map of our lives.  The scars, tattoos and wrinkles that decorate the surface are the record of its use and abuse, journeys and rituals.  Our skin is only a cocoon, which we shed daily, constantly evolving and changing ourselves.

She provides painting and frame restoration services as well as children and adult painting and drawing classes at the Durrett Studio and Gallery in Marietta, GA.  She has also served as an instructor for High School Honors students weekend courses in printmaking in Kennesaw, GA.

Jaime Parham, Baltimore, MD

In 1999, Jaime studied Religious and Gothic Art/Architecture at the Roehampton University in London.  She then earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia where she concentrated on painting and drawing techniques as well as in-depth art history studies and Old Masters Glazing Technique.  Her studies intensified her desire to use painting as a form of conveying a story that might lose its intensity in word form.

Her love for art history shows in her painting technique and subject matter.  Her ability to tell stories greatly influenced her early art endeavors.    She enjoys narrative art and finds the story that can occur within one subject matter at one time to be very intriguing.  A majority of her work exists within the story of the female.  The complex circuitry of this creature allows Jaime  to tap into a wide range of tales which will never leave her at a loss for words or images.

While living in Abu Dhabi she was asked to participate in a Two Woman Art Show at the Hemisphere Gallery entitled,  “A Dat, A Dot, A Dash”.  Later she participated in a showcase and sale for creative artists in Dubai. Jaime She also participated in a two woman oil painters show titled “A Woman’s View”, at Unique Creations Gallery in GA and most recently participated at a show at the Mark Whistler Art Gallery in Baltimore, MD.

Jaime has received many honors in Juried Shows and has been featured in Magazines and Art Galleries nationally and Internationally.

Jaime continues to attend training classes and recently attended a sculpture and casting techniques class taught by a Bulgarian Artist and an oil painting class taught by a Canadian/Iranian artist in Abu Dhabi.  She also shares her love of art by providing classes for adults and children during her travels.
